What is a geomembrane?

Geomembrane is a geomembrane material composed of plastic film as the impervious substrate and nonwoven fabric. The impervious performance of the new material geomembrane mainly depends on the impervious performance of the plastic film. The plastic films used for seepage prevention at home and abroad mainly include polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), and EVA (ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer). In tunnel applications, there are also designs that use ECB (ethylene acetate modified asphalt blend geomembrane). They are polymer chemical flexible materials with a small specific gravity, strong extensibility, high deformation resistance, corrosion resistance, low temperature resistance, and good frost resistance.

Geomembrane is a waterproof and barrier material based on polymer.

It is mainly divided into: low density polyethylene (LDPE) geomembrane, high density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane, and EVA geomembrane.

1. The width and thickness specifications are complete.

2. It has excellent environmental stress cracking resistance and excellent chemical corrosion resistance.

3. Excellent chemical corrosion resistance.

4. It has a large operating temperature range and a long service life.

5. Used in landfill sites, tailings storage sites, canal seepage prevention, embankment seepage prevention, and subway projects.

Its main mechanism is to isolate the leakage passage of the earth dam with the impermeability of the plastic film, withstand water pressure and adapt to the deformation of the dam body with its large tensile strength and elongation; Non woven fabric is also a kind of short polymer fiber chemical material, which is formed by needle punching or thermal bonding, and has high tensile strength and extensibility. When combined with plastic film, it not only increases the tensile strength and puncture resistance of plastic film, but also increases the friction coefficient of the contact surface due to the rough surface of the non woven fabric, which is conducive to the stability of the composite geomembrane and protective layer. At the same time, they have good corrosion resistance to bacteria and chemical action, are not afraid of acid, alkali, and salt erosion, and have a long service life when used in a dark environment.
